This is why many Gen Y-ers are opting out of buying their own cars and choosing to ride bikes, take public transit or hitch rides with friends instead. This is a big change from the automobile culture that their parents and grandparents grew up in. However, there are still plenty of benefits to owning a car that these young people can enjoy too!
