Entertaiment is a word that describes a wide range of activities. Some examples are movies and television shows, music (listening, playing, or attending concerts), sports and games, reading novels or short stories, and participating in visual arts like painting or photography.
Many entertainment activities hit on subjects that the brain was evolved to deeply react to, such as backstabbing, murders, and other social themes. Entertainment can be used for a variety of purposes, including relaxation, distraction, escape, delay, or catharsis. Relaxation and escape are normally seen as positive, but some forms of entertainment can be detrimental to mental health.
